Collector Tank, Yak 52

$180.00
This is the intermediate tank between the flapper valves and the debubbler tank on the firewall.

It is located under the cabin deck between Pilot and Instructor.

It has a flop tube to pick up fuel when inverted. An desirable quality of used Collector Tanks is that, when rattled, this flop tube is heard to 'flop' but not sound like its flying around inside completely detached, implying the flop tube has severed due to old age.

Such a condition could interrupt flow to the debubbler tank, introducing air into the fuel lines.

This example 'flops' nicely and so passes this test.

Main Fuel Tank, Starboard, Yak 52

$450.00

Sold out

Two styles of Fuel Tank were used.

Earlier versions will dispense fuel onto the tarmac through the underwing vent lines on a summer day.

Later versions have additional fuel expansion pipework and will not dump fuel. To tell the difference, open the square access door behind the cowling on the Starboard side of your 52. If you see two yellow fuel lines running vertically there, you have the later, improved venting type.

If you see only one line, you have the earlier tanks.

Pictured is example is an earlier tank. It has never been repaired and still had fuel in it when removed. We have both early and late available

Tell tale blue dye signs would have indicated leaks. All tanks are pressure tested by an external testing service before shipment.

Custom shipping will be required for other than local pickup due to the size and fragility of this item.
